About Dr. Laurie
Laurie Powell DOM, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., M.S.O.M
is licensed by the Texas State Medical Board in the practice of Acupuncture. She graduated with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin in 2005. This program included extensive studies in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and other forms of Oriental Medicine. Laurie Powell also holds a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of North Texas. She went on to obtain additional training and licensee as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico. She is an Advanced NAET Practitioner and specializes in allergies, digestive disorders and emotional issues.
Our Movement
Grassroots Acupuncture is a local movement that is working to educate and inform the public about the benefits of complementary and alternative medicine. We support people in taking a more active role in their health behaviors and therapeutic decision making process.
